Prosecutor: the organizer of the assassination attempt on Babchenko did not work on counter-intelligence
MOSCOW, 1 Jul — RIA Novosti. Boris Herman, who was suspected of organizing the assassination in Kiev of the journalist Arkady Babchenko, has not cooperated with the Ukrainian intelligence service, said the Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko.

At the meeting of Shevchenkovsky district court of Kiev, where he was elected a measure of restraint, Herman stated that advance was aware that the contractor will attempt to cooperate with the security Service of Ukraine, and the murder will be staged. He also said that when he learned about the “order” to Babchenko, reported it to counterintelligence.
“The information which we have not confirmed this information (on cooperation with Herman counterintelligence), that’s not true. It is not and was not an agent of the security Service of Ukraine or counter-intelligence, which is a subdivision of the SBU”, — quotes the words of the Prosecutor on the website of the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
The Prosecutor explained that he had checked this information after the suspect’s statements during the trial.
On Tuesday, the first media, and then the Ukrainian authorities reported that a Russian citizen Babchenko, who from 2017 worked on the TV channel ATR in Kiev, allegedly shot and killed in the stairwell of his house. However, the next day Babchenko appeared at the press conference of the security Service of Ukraine. As stated by the head of the Agency Vasyl Hrytsak, the information about the murder Babchenko was part of a special operation to prevent the assassination of a journalist. A suspect in the assassination of the Ukrainian German were arrested on Wednesday in Kiev. On Thursday, the court arrested him for two months.
