The Mars probe “Phoenix” has seen 10 years later

Experts from NASA released a new photo of the station “Phoenix”, which completed its mission just under 10 years ago. During this time the unit was heavily covered with dust.

In a new photo taken 21 December 2017 Orbiter Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is visible prineu the lander and its rear heat shield and a parachute, said in a press release NASA. However, when compared with the screenshot in 2008, you can see that part of the machine during this time was heavily covered with dust. Launch of Phoenix on 4 August 2007 and landing in the Northern part of the red planet occurred on 25 may 2008. The mission was a success: you found ice under a thin layer of soil, and also made a chemical analysis of the soil. Recent signals from the “Phoenix” was received on 2 November 2008 and the end of the mission, announced November 10.
