“Doomsday vault” is a bunker on Svalbard (territory of Norway). There are seeds of plants in case of environmental disaster. According to the UN 75% of crop diversity in the twentieth century has been lost. Storage will help to preserve what is left.

The vault is built on the island Longyearbyen the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard and represents a buried 120 metres, adjacent rooms, equipped with sluice chambers, explosion-proof doors and refrigeration walls. It is believed that it can withstand an earthquake, global warming and even a nuclear explosion.
