Japan has called the consequences of the cessation of pressure on North Korea

The international community’s recognition of the DPRK as a nuclear power can put an end to the current regime that governs the Treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons.

This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Japan, Taro Kono at the Munich security conference, reports TASS.

“North Korea, with its ambitions, which include a requirement of withdrawal of us troops from the Korean Peninsula and the unification of North and South on its own terms, considering nuclear weapons as an important means to achieve their goals. That is why we in any case should not recognize North Korea as a country possessing nuclear weapons,” — said the Minister.

According to Kono, the international community should not take seriously the words of Pyongyang about friendliness, and the obligation to continue the pressure on North Korea.

In December 2017, North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN said that he was going to turn North Korea into a strong nuclear power in the world. Thus, the DPRK authorities stated that the war on the Korean Peninsula is inevitable.

In September 2017, North Korea conducted a successful test of the hydrogen bomb, and in November — Intercontinental ballistic missile “And 15”.
