Peskov told about the Russian response to the terrorists in Syria shot down a su-25
MOSCOW, 5 Feb — RIA Novosti. Russia has taken decisive action to curtail the activity of terrorists in Syria in response to downed su-25, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
“When President (Vladimir) Putin spoke about the completion of the active stage of the operation to support the Syrian armed forces in their counter-terrorism work, he said that persisting and remaining potential of the Russian armed forces in points of temporary basing sufficient to ensure that, if necessary, to strike at the terrorists a crushing blow. This point strikes it and goes”, — said Peskov told reporters.
So he responded to a request to comment on the actions of the Russian armed forces in Syria over the weekend. As reported previously, the defense Ministry, more than 30 of the militants were destroyed as a result of the group strike with precision weapons in Idlib province, controlled by “al-Nusra Dzhebhat”* where the rocket was launched MANPADS in the Russian su-25. The bomber was shot down on Saturday, February 3, in the Syrian province of Idlib. The pilot ejected, but was killed in the battle with terrorists.
Peskov said that the actions against terrorists were provoked by their attack on the Russian su-25. “They were provoked by the tragic event, when terrorists were shot down by our aircraft, the pilot died heroically, we all condolences to the families and friends of the pilot and are proud of our heroes. Naturally, this tragic accident was followed by decisive action to curb the terrorist activity”, — said the press Secretary of the President.
