Putin instructed to streamline the procedure for establishment of disability
MOSCOW, January 15 — RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers until March 1, 2018, together with the Public chamber to consider the possibility of public control in the field of medical-social expertise for disabled people, to take measures for its improvement.
The head of state approved a list of instructions following last December 5, 2017 meetings with disabilities, representatives of public organizations and professional communities, providing assistance to people with disabilities. It was held at the Russian state specialized Academy of arts.
“The government of the Russian Federation to consider with participation of Public chamber of the Russian Federation on improvement of system of public control in the sphere of medico-social examination and, if necessary, submit relevant proposals”, — the document says.
In addition, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev before March 1 mandated to take steps to improve the procedure of medical examination for defining the cases when the disability is established permanently in the primary treatment in institutions of medico-social examination, and also providing for the possibility of changes in the individual program of rehabilitation or habilitation of the disabled, without revision of disability or the period for which it is installed.
The President also instructed the government to report annually on activities that are responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities, in the development and updating of state programs, priority projects, including in the field of providing citizens with affordable and comfortable housing, the formation of a comfortable urban environment.
