Ministry of defense: attacked the Russian base in Syria, drones were launched from the area of de-escalation “Idlib”

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. Drones attacking Russian military targets in Hamima and Tartus on the night of 6 January, was launched from the area of de-escalation “of Idlib,” said a 10 January, the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation.

“The launch of the drones had been launched from the area of the settlement of Mazzara, located in the southwestern part of the zone of de-escalation “Idlib”, controlled by the armed groups of the so-called moderate opposition,” — said in comments the defense Ministry published in the newspaper “Red star”.

In this regard, the Russian defense Ministry has sent letters to the chief of the General staff of the Turkish Armed forces General Hulusi Akar and chief of the National intelligence organization Hakan country Ficano.

“The documents indicated the need to meet Ankara’s obligations to ensure respect for the cessation of hostilities under the control of the armed forces and revitalization of placing observation posts in the area of de-escalation “Idlib” to prevent such attacks and strike UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] for any object”, — noted in the defense Ministry.

Earlier, the Ministry said that on the night of January 6 in the Russian military facilities in Hamima and Tartus was made with a drone strike sent by the terrorists. All used in the attack of machines were either destroyed or brought under control by the Russian military. Meanwhile, the defense Ministry stressed that the solutions used by militants, could be obtained only from technologically advanced countries and warned of the danger of recurrence of such attacks in any country of the world.

From mid-September in Syria, there are four zones of de-escalation. They are located in Eastern ghouta (suburb of Damascus), in the South of the country, near the city of HOMS and in Idlib province and parts of neighboring provinces of Aleppo, Latakia and Hama.
