Prosecutors called the Scam one of the most common types of crimes
In 2017 fraud on average was recorded every three minutes.
MOSCOW, January 7. /TASS/. The fraud began in 2017, one of the most common types of crime: on average recorded one crime of this type every three minutes. This is evidenced by the published data of the Prosecutor General on the state of crime in Russia during 11 months of 2017.
“The number of crimes committed in the form of fraud (article 159, 159.6 of the criminal code), compared to the same period of 2016 increased by 6.8% and amounted to 204870 crimes,” — noted in the materials of the Prosecutor’s office of statistics.
The largest increase of detected fraud was in the Saratov region (by almost 2.5 times, or by 2.4 thousand more than in 2016), in Kaliningrad region (by 1.1 thousand, or 2 times more), more than 1.5 times increase in the number of identified frauds in the Nizhny Novgorod region (by 1.7 thousand), St. Petersburg (1.4 thousand), the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district (1.2 million).
