The state Duma adopted the law raising the minimum wage to the subsistence level
MOSCOW, 15 Dec — RIA Novosti. The state Duma adopted in the third final reading of a government bill to raise the minimum wage (SMIC) to the level of the subsistence minimum.
According to the draft law, from January 1, 2018 the minimum wage will be set at 85% of the subsistence minimum is 9489 rubles, and starting January 1, 2019 it will always be set to the size of the subsistence minimum for the second quarter of the year preceding the establishment of the minimum wage.
The first Deputy Chairman of the faction “United Russia” Andrey Isaev stressed the importance of the bill to raise the minimum wage, as the controversy surrounding this issue was conducted 25 years. Earlier he told reporters that the point in this dispute was put by the President of the Russian Federation, which has decided, the Parliament will make it into law.
