Flights between Moscow and Cairo will resume February 1
CAIRO, December 15. /TASS/. Flights between Moscow and Cairo will resume from February 1, 2018. This was announced on Friday, the Ministry of civil aviation of Egypt.
“During the visit of the head of Minamiarai Sheriff Fathi in Moscow signed a special Protocol on the resumption of flights — said in a public statement to the press. — At the meeting agreed that the two governments give green light to airlines to launch flights between Moscow and Cairo on 1 February.”
According to the Agency, “each airline will take a decision on their business activities in accordance with existing requirements.”
The question of the renewal of the Charter will appear on the agenda in April. “It was decided to continue contacts and to meet again in April to establish a mechanism for the resumption of the [Charter] flights to the Egyptian tourist city”, — stated in the communique.
Flights between the two countries was completely interrupted in November 2015, a few days after the crash on October 31, at Sinai, the Russian airline “Kogalymavia” carrying out flight on a route Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg.
In the crash killed 224 people. The FSB has classified the incident as a terrorist attack, Moscow has put the main condition of resumption of flights significant upgrade of all security systems in the Egyptian airports.
