The head of the political Cabinet of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski, Jan Parys stated that the existence of Ukraine is not a necessary condition for the existence of Poland. It is reported by RMF24.
“I would like to make it clear that a strong and independent Ukraine is important for Poland, but at the same time, the existence of Ukraine is not a necessary condition for the existence of free Poland” — said Paris.
The diplomat added that after the British exit from the European Union, Poland will be the fifth state in the Union and reminded that this country is the chief state of the Eastern flank of NATO. “Poland will exist regardless of what is happening in Ukraine, the situation is improving or getting worse,” said Paris.
He also accused Kiev authorities of falsifying history and the persecution of the Polish minority in Ukraine. “They believe that Warsaw is weak, isolated and in need in Ukraine. This is not so. Ukraine needs Poland. Poland will succeed without Ukraine”, he concluded.
The Polish foreign Ministry has not yet made any statements regarding the performance of Paris, however, it is known that the office was surprised.
