A small German settlement Alvin 120 kilometers South of Berlin was sold at auction for 125 thousand euros. The new owner got 12 houses and garages, says the Daily Nation.
Earlier in the Alvin lived the staff of coal processing plant. After the fall of the Berlin wall, the plant was closed, and young people left the village. There now remains only 20 elderly people.
Alvin was sold in 2000 for a nominal sum, but the owners are unable to establish in the village’s normal life. The village was again put up for auction. The initial price of the lot amounted to 125 thousand euros.
