The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has promised to soon make the decision to participate in the upcoming presidential election. He stated this at the ceremony of awarding the “Volunteer of Russia” on Wednesday, December 6. The broadcast led TV channel “Russia 24”.
“It’s always for any person a very important decision, because motive in the decision can only be the desire to improve life in the country, to make it more powerful, protected looking to the future. And to achieve these goals is possible only under one condition — if the people trust and support,” Putin said in response to a question that asked him a leading award Dmitry Guberniev.
He then turned to the volunteers asking whether they would support it. In the audience shouts: “Yes!”. “I understand that this decision should be made soon, and it will be accepted”, — assured the head of state. He added: “And I will keep in mind our conversation and your reaction to it”.
Earlier in the day, the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, urged journalists to be ready to nominate Putin every day. “When he does that, I don’t know, but the rumors we have about each day and go”, — said Peskov.
The next presidential elections will be held in March 2018, the campaign is supposed to start in December. To date, about presidential ambitions announced presenters Ksenia Sobchak and Catherine Gordon, the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the Chairman of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov and businessman Sergei Polonsky.
