The Russian Ambassador told about the possible meeting of Putin and trump

CHICAGO, November 5 — RIA Novosti, Ekaterina Sobol. Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald trump during a possible meeting in Vietnam on the sidelines of the APEC summit to discuss the fight against international terrorism, Syria and North Korea, told reporters on the sidelines of the conference Russian-American science Association (RASA-USA), Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov.

Earlier press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that it is possible with great certainty to assume that Putin and trump will discuss the situation around North Korea during the meeting if it is agreed upon.

“I believe that contacts between the leaders they are always helpful. If the leaders sit together and talk, they can be very broad agenda to discuss,” — said Antonov.

According to him, it is not necessary to be neither a politician nor a diplomat to understand that the main problem is the fight against international terrorism.

“How to prevent such events we saw in new York. How to do everything for the people of Syria began to live in peace. When will the political process, how to speed it up,” said the Russian Ambassador.

He also recalled the initiative of the Russian Federation at the meeting of various Syrian opposition groups in Sochi. “I think that this issue could be discussed. Well, being in Asia, of course, what kind of problems. This is a problem of the DPRK,” — said Antonov.

“The world will be better off if the two leaders met and talked about the actual problems… Expectations of course positive, if a decision is made on both sides,” he concluded.

In an interview with Fox News channel, trump previously said that he considers possible negotiations with the Russian leader important. In the first place, because, according to him, Moscow may help to increase pressure on Pyongyang. In addition, he intends to discuss with Putin the peace settlement in Ukraine.
