Lost because of the Internet the sleep time calculated
Data analysis showed that fans use broadband Internet to remain, on average, 25 minutes less time to rest.
Scientists conducted a study and found a link between high speed Internet and bedtime of respondents. The results were published in Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
Data analysis showed that fans use broadband Internet to remain, on average, 25 minutes less time to rest. Moreover, with high-speed Internet people who slept less than six hours a quarter as often as those who have such access was not. The impact of the Internet on sleep is more pronounced among people aged 18 to 30 years. In this age category, the difference in sleep time was 70 minutes.
Access to high speed Internet affects the quality of sleep. According to the study, respondents often woke up and was not satisfied with their sleep if enjoyed fast Internet.
The study was conducted by Italian scientists from Bocconi University, who analyzed the survey data the German Time Use Survey conducted by the German Federal statistical office in 2012-2013. The survey involved five and a half thousand respondents. The participants within three days voluntarily recorded their actions with a ten-minute interval.
In June it became known about the deadly dangers of long sleep. Japanese scientists have found that too short and too long sleep increases the risk of dementia and premature death in people older than 60 years.
In January it was reported that people experiencing daytime sleepiness were more prone to Alzheimer’s disease.
