A tourist trying to get from Ukraine to Crimea on a raft made of bottles and boards
SIMFEROPOL, July 26. /TASS/. Russian border guards detained in the North of the Crimea tourist who was trying to get to the Peninsula on a makeshift raft in the bypass of the border. On Thursday reported the press service of border Department of the FSB in the region.
The man was detained at the time when he’s on a makeshift raft made from plastic bottles and boards, “was moving through the Gulf of Sivash from Ukraine in Crimea”, said the management.
“His act, the citizen is explained as a passion of extreme tourism, the ultimate goal of the route would become the ascent of Everest”, — stated in the message.
When a tourist, the border guards found a Russian passport, military ID, travel backpack with clothes and provisions, a few Bank cards, phones, flash cards and a video camera.
“The survey found that earlier the man had Ukrainian citizenship. The passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation received in one of the cities of Eastern Siberia under the state program to assist the voluntary resettlement in Russia of compatriots living abroad”, — said the press service.
The offender was fined under article 18.1 of the administrative code (“violation of the state border of the Russian Federation”), added the border. The amount of the fine in the message is not specified.
