Russia and Ukraine broke off communication
The agreement between Russia and Ukraine on cooperation in the field of information stopped. This is stated in the official message of the Russian foreign Ministry, published on the portal of legal information.
The document was signed in February 1998. The parties then agreed to contribute to the creation of favourable conditions for wide and free dissemination of information and to promote cooperation between media of the two countries.
Earlier, on March 21, the Ukrainian government has severed an economic cooperation program with Russia for 2011-2020.
Relations between Kyiv and Moscow deteriorated sharply after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia in March 2014 and the beginning of the conflict in the Donbass in April of the same year. Ukraine accuses Moscow regularly in the conduct of hostilities in the South-East of its territory and calls the aggressor, the Kremlin denies the accusations, pointing to the lack of evidence.
