The Russians are regular reports of fire investigation in Kemerovo

Sociologists have found that the majority of Russians consider it necessary to regularly inform the authorities about the investigation of the tragedy in Kemerovo. To the question “should or should not the authorities regularly inform the public about the investigation into the fire in a shopping Mall in Kemerovo?” the vast majority of respondents — 91% gave a positive answer. Different opinion only 5% of respondents, 4% did not answer.
Almost two-thirds of our compatriots admitted that we are closely following reports about the fire, “trying to get into the details”. The researchers also asked the survey participants to voice their options on what steps can be taken “to prevent similar disasters in the future.” Almost a third of respondents said that the need “to strengthen the control, inspection of fire safety”, 11% — “to contain the means of fire safety in good condition,” 10% indicated the need to fight corruption, 9% expressed the opinion that “employees need to take more responsibility for their duties.”
Another 7% offered to “toughen punishment to the perpetrators of the fires and violators of fire safety”, others — “to strengthen the fire protection of buildings under construction” (6%), “accept the work of professionals, conduct training and exercises for employees” (5%). The view that “people should be more vigilant, to observe security measures” was expressed by 3% of Russians. That “nothing can be done” said 8% of respondents, while 16% were undecided.

Poll “Omnibus” was held from 30 March to 1 April among 1,5 thousand respondents. The statistical error does not exceed 3.6%.
Fire in four-storey shopping centre, “Winter cherry” has occurred on March 25. The fire killed 64 people, including 41 children. In the first days after the tragedy, the people began to bring flowers, candles and toys to the burned-out building. National memorial during working visits in Kemerovo was attended by representatives and heads of Federal agencies. Russian President Vladimir Putin also laid flowers here in memory of the victims of the biggest fire.
