US scientists were allowed to participate in Russia-sponsored programs
The U.S. Department of energy has banned its employees and scientists to participate in programs on the search for talented personnel who are sponsored by a number of countries, including Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal said the Deputy Minister of energy of the USA Dan Pollett, these measures are aimed at “protecting national interests of the United States in the field of security and science.”
Now all Agency staff, contract workers, scientists and potential grant winners are prohibited from participating in specialized events abroad and share experiences with colleagues from those countries.
