The media talked about the “informal” conversation between Putin and trump at the G20
MOSCOW, 29 Jan — RIA Novosti. The President of the United States Donald trump at an event in the framework of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires in November for several minutes talking with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin without an interpreter and stenographer with the American side, according to the publication Financial Times, citing sources.
Conversation Putin and trump was at the Opera Teatro colón in Buenos Aires, when government leaders and the guests walked to the exit of the building. According to the newspaper, trump with his wife Melania, but without assistants, and Putin interpreter sat at the table and was among the last who left the theater.
According to sources of the newspaper, the conversation Putin and trump was more substantial and protracted than previously reported the White house called their conversation “informal”.
The newspaper writes that, according to the Russian official, the two leaders talked for 15 minutes about matters concerning foreign policy, including the incident in the Kerch Strait and the conflict in Syria. They also discussed when to hold an official meeting, the official said.
According to him, trump said that the full meeting is not possible, the Russian President said that “in no hurry” and is ready to meet with trump when he shall have convenient time.
The Russian official noted that the lack of interpreters and assistants trump — a consequence of “another system” used by the White house, compared to Russian standards. According to him, the Russian President was escorted all day, whereas in the USA a different system.
Previously, trump has canceled a meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit because of the incident in the Kerch Strait, when Ukrainian ships violated the border of Russia and was arrested.
