Soloviev commented on the investigation about an expensive Villa in Italy
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov called the investigation into opposition leader Alexei Navalny on one of his Villa in Italy “dog joke”. He told The Insider that is not a public servant and not breaking the law, buying property in Italy.
“Want to buy somewhere else — anywhere else buy. Pay taxes, funds allow. Earn a lot, get a lot of pleasure from the fact that my programs bring money to the TV channel “Russia”,” — said the journalist.
He assured that he never spoke negatively about Europe and European culture. “Find at least one of my quote where it says that Europe is bad,” said the presenter.
Solovyov also said that he has a lot more cars than indicates the Fund of struggle against corruption (FBK). The fines registered on the cars are obtained because of drivers who run them. Solovyov promised to deal with them. The host drives a car Mercedes, not Maybach.
According to the FCO, the cost of the Villa Solovyov on the shores of lake Como was more than one million euros. Solovyov about the first Villa on the same lake Navalny said in 2017. The presenter then stated that he never hid that rich, though not “bragging”. He said he purchased the property on lake Como, because it was cheaper than in the Moscow suburb of Rublyovka.
Solovyov also explained that he sees no connection between patriotism and owning property abroad. “Patriotism is not under house arrest,” explained the presenter.
