Burning in the Kerch Strait court accused of supply gas to Syria

The court “Kandy” and “Maestro”, which caught fire in the Kerch Strait, were involved in the illegal supply of gas to Syria. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

As explained in Department, according to the office of foreign assets control of the U.S. Treasury Department (OFAC), the court was involved in the shipments in 2016.

It is noted that they were engaged in the transportation of gas produced as on the Ukrainian shelf, and in other countries.

The Ministry added that, according to the international system AIS (Automatic Identification System), the ship “Kandy” (the current name — “Venice”) on 20 January came from the Russian port of Temryuk.

It is known that at the time of the accident, the system at the tanker has been disabled. AIS also did not work and the “Maestro” — the last ship information system recorded on 9 January.
