MOSCOW, January 6. /TASS/. A court in Orenburg on Sunday changed the measure of restraint to the accused in bribery former mayor of Orenburg Eugene Arapov from detention to house arrest. About this TASS said the head of Department of the information of the court of the Orenburg region Yulia Panina.

“The Leninsky district court of Orenburg in the meeting on Sunday changed the measure of restraint Evgeny Arapov on house arrest for a period of one month,” said Panin. As explained TASS in investigatory management SK the Russian Federation across the region, the court changed the measure of restraint on the defense motion Arapova.

Earlier it was reported that on 6 December the Leninsky district court of Orenburg Arapov has extended the detention period for one month until January 8, 2019.

In the summer of 2018 former mayor of Orenburg was arrested on suspicion of bribery. According to the investigation, Arapov, and his Deputy, Gennady Borisov received from the CEO of the company “UKS-invest” Alexander Ershov 600 thousand rubles for protection in the field of construction and realization of real estate objects on the territory of Orenburg.

Later against Arapova initiated the second criminal case about receiving a bribe in the amount of 1.3 million rubles. The city of Orenburg on 8 October ahead of schedule stopped powers of the mayor, who had held this position since October 30, 2015.

In December, the result showed Arapov new charges under part 6 of article 290 (“Receiving bribe by person in the provision of other property rights for illegal actions in especially large size”) and article 289 (“Illegal participation in entrepreneurial activities”) of the criminal code.
