The site storm sewer system in Sochi, which fell and killed a child, was rebuilt: the chute was closed with a special shield, but the day of the tragedy was exposed, told TASS on Monday, the Prosecutor of the Krasnodar territory, which organized the test after the incident.
On Friday, August 3, during a heavy rain in the village of Lazarevskoye the boy fell in the storm ditch. Near the grandmother tried to rescue grandson, but the child was swept away. Some time later the boy’s body without signs of life found in the sea. In connection with the tragedies of the SU TFR in the region opened a criminal case. In the municipality of Sochi noted that the grille on the rain collector is not provided by the construction, and storm warning for heavy rains was announced in advance.
“Is checked. According to current information, the owner of the hotel [located near the site of the tragedy] altered stormwater drainage. In one place was a gutter, and above it was a hole, which is covered with a shield — it could raise to get stuck twigs and debris. The shield was usually on the spot and in the moment of the tragedy he was not there, he was in the side,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
He said that prosecutors are currently checking the compliance of the legislation on sanitation and water supply, and the maintenance of municipal property. In particular, work with staff and the municipal enterprise “the Gutter”, responsible for the maintenance of the storm sewer. The prosecutors said that all the circumstances and details of the incident are established.
