The HAGUE, July 10. /TASS/. Russia urges US as soon as possible to destroy its stockpile of chemical weapons. This was stated on Tuesday at the 88th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW), the head of the Russian delegation, Deputy Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov.
“From the time of entry into force of the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons (CWC) has been more than twenty years. But still never achieved one of the main objectives of the Convention, the comprehensive destruction of chemical weapons, he recalled. – The only possessor state of chemical arsenals are the United States, which, despite the presence of financial, material, human, and technological resources, do not hurry to fulfill its main obligation under the CWC”.
