BEIJING, 8 Feb — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin and XI Jinping signed a joint statement that discussed the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran and unilateral deployment of ABM systems in Europe and Asia under the pretext of “missile threat”.
The leaders also agreed to bring the two countries ‘ cooperation to a “new level”.
Condemnation of the USA
Putin and XI Jinping said about the importance of preserving the Joint comprehensive plan of action on Iran’s nuclear program after a “discouraging unilateral US withdrawal”.
The statement stressed “the fundamental importance of the protection of the interests of trade and economic cooperation of all States with Iran from the unilateral extraterritorial sanctions”.
The leaders also noted that a number of countries unilaterally deploy missile defense in Europe and Asia, damaging the security of Russia and China.
In addition, the parties spoke in favor of preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria and the fight against terrorism “without double standards”. Also Russia and China agreed to continue efforts to find a peaceful solution to the problems on the Korean Peninsula.
