In Tbilisi city hall declared that do not intend to increase the salaries of train drivers metro
TBILISI, June 4. /TASS/ — the head of the city Kakha Kaladze stressed that “the strike of the machinists metro directly aimed at the deterioration of the living conditions of the population.”
Wages of drivers of Tbilisi metro will not be increased, despite arranged them strike. On Monday at a press briefing at Tbilisi city hall said the mayor Kakha Kaladze.
The mayor called blackmail actions of the drivers who last night began a strike demanding higher wages.
“It is unacceptable that on the basis of blackmail Tbilisi city hall adopted an unfair and unequal solution. Otherwise, I’m not right in front of the preschool staff, teachers, ambulance crews, firefighters who around the clock to serve and take care of the capital and its residents,” — said Kaladze.
He stressed that “the strike of train drivers metro directly aimed at the deterioration of the living conditions of the population.” In this regard, the city hall decided to make use of public transport of the city for the period of strike free.

The work of the Tbilisi metro on Monday morning, was paralyzed due to the strike of machinists of the underground. As explained by the Transport company Tbilisi “to stop the operation of the subway solved in connection with the strike of the machinists and to ensure the safety of passengers.”
The company said that engineers, who had to intercede on shift in the morning, held a demonstration demanding higher wages on Monday night, after hours. According to them, they can’t “guarantee the safety of passengers, transport of which was the drivers who spent the night without sleep.” In this regard, “the decision was made to stop the underground”.
