WASHINGTON, April 8 — RIA Novosti. The United States is following the possible use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Duma, told RIA Novosti the representative of US state Department.
“We have seen numerous very disturbing reports today in the afternoon about another possible attack using chemical weapons near the hospital in the Duma in Syria.”
“Reports of a number of groups and medical personnel on the ground make it clear that at least 40 people were killed and hundreds were injured, and many families, including children, were hiding in shelters, but it is assumed that they died,” said the spokesman.
“We continue to receive reports and evaluate information about the alleged attack,” — said the representative of the state Department.
However, he said that “the past is the use of chemical weapons by the regime (in Syria — ed.) cannot be questioned”.
He also blamed Russia for himataki in Syria.
“As we said earlier, ultimately the responsibility for violent attacks on countless Syrians by chemical weapons lies on Russia”.
“The protection of Russia’s regime (Syrian President Bashar) Assad and failing to stop the use of chemical weapons in Syria calls into question it (Russia — ed.) commitment to the resolution of the crisis”, — said the representative of the state Department.
The Syrian government has repeatedly denied allegations of using chemical weapons and blamed on militants. Russia also denied the charges in the United States and stated that he supports the investigation of all incidents and punishment of perpetrators.
