Putin awarded the deceased in Syria the pilot Filipovo the title of Hero of Russia
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS./ The President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the deceased in Syria, the Russian pilot Roman Filipov the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. About it reports a press-service of the Kremlin.

“For heroism, courage and bravery shown during the performance of military duty, assign rank Hero of the Russian Federation major Filipovo Roman Nikolaevich (posthumously)”, — stated in the text of the decree of the President.
As previously reported, on February 3 over the area of de-escalation “Idlib” in the same Syrian province, from a portable anti-aircraft missile system was shot down by a Russian su-25 under the control of the major Roman Filipov. The pilot managed to eject, and later on the ground took an unequal battle with the terrorists. Being surrounded by rebels, Filipov blew himself up with a grenade.

The body of the pilot has returned to Russia, the pilot will be buried with military honors in Voronezh on 8 February.
