A modernized strategic bomber Tu-160 made its first demonstration flight in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The plane was named the first commander-in-chief of the Russian air force Peter Deinekin, which established the tradition called “strategists” names of prominent people.
Ex-range aviation commander Lieutenant General Anatoly Zhikharev told TASS that connects the Tu-160 bombers and DANCENY.

According to Zhikhareva, Deinekin was the initiator of the tradition to give names to bombers Tu-160, which pilots called “the White Swan”. “We asked to named the plane in honor of Peter Deinekin because of the 16 we currently have are all personal, and that Pyotr Stepanovitch was the initiator of the naming of the Tu-160.
