MOSCOW, Nov 2 — RIA Novosti. A glass of very expensive whiskey, which the Chinese millionaire Zhang Wei paid nearly 10 thousand dollars, was a forgery, writes portal Swiss Info.

To try unique whiskey Wei had a chance in August in a hotel in the Swiss resort of St. Moritz.

A bottle of Macallan Single Malt was dated 1878 year. It is specified that it was bought by the father of the owner of the hotel 25 years ago. However, the authenticity and the quality of the drink has caused doubts among experts, and the management of the hotel decided to send a bottle for examination in the UK.

Laboratory tests conducted by Scottish specialists and scientists at Oxford University showed “95% probability that the fluid was created between 1970 and 1972”. Moreover, drinking a Chinese millionaire whiskey, most likely, was not Scotch, it was a mixed tape.

The hotel took responsibility for the incident and fully reimbursed spent way amount. The owner even went to China to personally apologize and deliver the check to the guest. According to media reports, a millionaire appreciated this step, and the two men eventually spent the evening in Beijing in conversations about whiskey.
