Ukraine again refused Saakashvili refugee status

The state migration service of Ukraine refused Mikhail Saakashvili in the preparation of documents for resolving the issue of granting refugee status. About it reports TV channel “espresso”.

Failure is associated “with the absence of well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, citizenship (nationality), membership of a particular social group or political opinion and unproven threat to the life, safety or freedom”, the document says that Saakashvili received.

In his Facebook politician has indicated that he will appeal in court the decision of the migration service.

On 12 September the Minister of justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko said that the Prosecutor’s office checks upon request from Georgia with a request to extradite Saakashvili.

10 Sep stripped of Ukrainian citizenship, Saakashvili entered the country from Poland at the checkpoint “shehyni”. Supporters of the policy broke through the cordon of security forces, after which he entered the territory of Ukraine.

October 3 he filed a petition for political asylum in Ukraine, but subsequently he was denied.
