The forgotten beauty.
In search of subjects of canadian photographer Christopher Herwig has covered more than 45 thousand kilometers from the shores of the Black sea to the Kazakh steppe. His attention was drawn to a bus stop, left over from Soviet times.

The photographer was fascinated by how they are varied and beautiful in its own way, despite the fact that many are not used anymore and is in a dilapidated condition. In his opinion, in conditions of censorship, the sculptors and the artists of the Soviet period were resourceful, implementing their innovative ideas in these structures.

Herwig has photographed the old bus stop in 20 countries of the former USSR and the socialist bloc. To find these forgotten treasures, it moved on cars, taxis, buses and bike. To find a stop was not easy. Some stand in the middle of the field, because the road and the cards have changed since those times.
After the tour, Herwig has published a photo album in two volumes.
