Russia accused NATO of the destruction of the system of arms control
NATO is helping US to break the system of arms control, said the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia.
“The Alliance fully adjusted to the line of Washington, is aimed at scrapping the final with great difficulty, built up over many years, the system of arms control. The collapse of the INF Treaty will have serious and far-reaching consequences for the entire European security architecture, which the Alliance alleged very care — including the U.S. allies in Europe,” — said in a press release, the Russian foreign Ministry.
The Russian foreign Ministry recalls hosted in Europe launchers “MK-41”. “NATO countries were not ready for a meaningful dialogue on the topic launchers “MK-41″, which are located in Romania, and next year will appear in Poland, in violation of the INF Treaty. These complexes are integrated into the missile defense system of NATO, so the Alliance is also directly responsible for undermining the Agreement,” — said in a statement.
Recall that after the announcement of the United States to start the process of withdrawal from the Treaty on intermediate-range nuclear forces (INF) President Vladimir Putin on Saturday announced a symmetrical response and ordered the defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to begin the development of previously prohibited classes of missiles.
