Time magazine published a list of the 100 most influential people in 2018
TASS, April 20. The American magazine Time has published the annual list of the “100 most influential people” for 2018, which this time representatives of Russia was not. The list was posted on the newspaper’s website.

In the category “Leaders”, the authoritative magazine included the President of the USA of Donald trump, the British Prince Harry and his bride American actress Meghan Markle, President of France Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, the President of China XI Jinping, the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN. From 2014 to 2017 in the lists of publications have featured the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, but this year it was not included by the editorial Board.
Athletes, businessmen and cultural figures were awarded in the categories “Artists”, “Icons” and “Titans”. According to the magazine, the most influential people in those categories in 2018 were actress Nicole Kidman, directed by Guillermo del Toro, TV host Jimmy Kimmel, singer Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, the entrepreneur Elon Musk, the tennis player Roger Federer.
In the category “Pioneers” most influential people of the year was named the first female commander of the International space station Peggy Whitson and the youngest American Olympic champion in snowboarding is Chloe Kim.
Time for the first time published a rating “100 most influential people in the world” in 1999. As explained by the representatives of the magazine, the list usually includes people who have the greatest influence on the situation in the world. It also includes different organizations, associations and collective images. Editor’s choice on who is the most powerful people in the world may greatly disagree with the opinion of the readers.
