“Helix” is one of the most famous buildings in the capital of Venezuela. A quirky but dilapidated pyramid towering on a rocky hill above the slums of one of the poorest areas of Caracas.

The building of the pyramid began in the 1950s, the years under President Marcos Pérez Jiménez. At this time the country began to receive large revenues from oil exports and has ambitious plans.
The building was designed by architects Pedro Noyberger, Dirk Bornhorst and Jorge Romero Gutierrez. It was supposed to be 300 shops, the exhibition industry, 5-star, 8 cinemas, Park, club owners, and showrooms.
