Poroshenko has filed documents for registration as a candidate for President of Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Central election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine the documents for registration of candidate for the presidential elections, which are scheduled for March 31. This was reported in his Facebook press Secretary of Ukrainian President Svyatoslav Tsigalko.
“On this festive day, Petro Poroshenko has submitted documents to the CEC for registration as presidential candidate”, — he said. He was attached to the post photo, which Poroshenko signed the papers, and beside him his wife Marina Poroshenko.

Poroshenko officially announced plans to participate in presidential elections on January 29. He said that will go to the polls as an independent candidate. The Ukrainian leader explained his decision to again run for this post “a deep sense of responsibility” to the country and his contemporaries. Poroshenko stressed that goes to second five-year term for the sake of “maintaining the strategic course to the European Union and NATO, of course on the transformation of Ukraine into a strong, successful country of happy people”.
As of the evening of 3 February, as the presidential candidates of Ukraine have tried to register 74 people. The Ukrainian Central election Commission until approved 28 applications. The favorites, according to the survey center “Social monitoring”, at the beginning of January was the leader of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko (13,4%) and showman Vladimir Zelensky (10.8 per cent). Poroshenko was only on the fifth place with the support of the 7.7% of respondents.
