MOSCOW, 22 Jan — RIA Novosti. The commander of the flight Surgut-Moscow, a course which demanded to change the passenger took the right decision — to sit in Khanty-Mansiysk, said the official representative of National antiterrorist Committee Andrey Przhezdomsky.
“Reported that the plane, EN route from Surgut to Moscow changed course at the request of one of the passengers. Based on this, the commander took the right decision to land the plane at the nearest airport in Khanty-Mansiysk. Now the plane is already in the Parking lot. The person who seized the plane is in the plane”, — said przhezdomski in the air “Russia 24”.
“The security forces are taking measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident. We hope that all measures will be taken in order to prevent any negative consequences,” he said.
Initially, the NAC declared that “the person who seized the plane, detained,” but a few minutes later said that this information is not confirmed.
As follows from the data of the online scoreboard of “Aeroflot”, flight SU1515 took off from Surgut at 14.39 local time (12.39 GMT) and was supposed to land at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport at 16.20 Moscow time, however, the plane changed direction. The source told RIA Novosti that an emergency landing occurred due to the passenger, 41-year-old Paul. His motives are still unclear.
