Scientists found a simple way to protect yourself from depression
Physical activity helps to avoid depression at any age. It found a group of scientists from USA, Brazil, UK, Belgium, Sweden and Australia, reports EurekAlert!
The scientists combined the results of 49 studies conducted in different regions of the world. Doctors for over seven years have seen almost 277 thousand mentally healthy people, and found that people with a high level of physical activity lower risk of depression outside of sex, age and geography.
The researchers do not stop the analysis and in the future will try to determine the minimum required level of energy to prevent the development of mental illness. They hope that the demonstrated results of the observations will contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The results of the study were published in the scientific American journal of psychiatry.
