The U.S. permanent representative to the UN said that Moscow will never be another Washington
NEW YORK, April 6. /TASS/. The U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley believes that Moscow will never be a friend of Washington, but it allows for the possibility of cooperation with Russia when it is beneficial to US.
She stated this on Thursday at Duke University in North Carolina, the record of her statement published on the channel in the Internet-YouTube.
“In our country was political debate about whether Russia is our friend or not, said Haley. — Actually, that’s the wrong question, because Russia will never be our friend. But, however, this does not mean that we do not want to work with them”.
“But we work with them, when we need it, and we strike when we need it. That is as it should be,” — said the U.S. permanent representative to the UN.
The U.S. position in the case Skripal
Haley also links the actions of the American side in connection with the incident in Salisbury with the attempts of Washington to hold a leading role in the world.
Speaking about the case Skripal, in involvement to which Washington and London, wrongly accuses Russia, Haley noted that “this was a serious international incident — the attack on a close friend of the United States” with the use of chemical weapons. “How should we respond? History teaches us that when the United States fails to play a leading role, and fails to protect our friends and our values, we suffer and the world suffers,” said she.
“When Russia used chemical weapons on the territory of the country which is our ally, we made the decision novels [other States] for themselves,” said Haley. Manifestation of this approach she called the subsequent expulsion of Russian diplomats.
