The sun has approved a life sentence to the killer of nine people in the Tver region
Moscow. 2 Nov. INTERFAX.RU — Russia’s Supreme court upheld a life sentence at the high-profile case of the shooting of nine cottagers last summer in the Tver region, according to the General Prosecutor’s office on Thursday.
“Judicial Board on criminal cases of the Supreme Court today considered the criminal case concerning 45-the summer inhabitant of Moscow Sergey Egorov. The Supreme Court, agreeing with the proposal of the representative of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation upheld the verdict of the Tver regional court without changes,” reads a statement posted on telegrams-channel Supervisory authority.
The sentence came into legal force, the document says.
Shooter convicted on 12 September 2017 Tver regional court to life imprisonment.
As established in court, “Egorov, in the territory of two households located in gardening Association “50 years of October” in the village of Redkino, Konakovo district, Tver region, on the night of June 4, 2017, after joint drinking of alcoholic drinks with the victims, on the basis of personal hostile relations that have arisen in the course of a dispute about military service, killed nine people with a hunting rifle”.
At the verdict, the convict filed an appeal in which, without disputing his involvement in the crimes, asked for him to re-forensic psychiatric expertise and the mitigation of the punishment, said the Prosecutor’s office.
