At the recent industrial exhibition in Hanover, German scientists from Festo introduced the world’s first bionic flying Fox.
Despite its low weight (only 580 grams), the robot is pretty large: only the scope of its “wings” is more than two meters. The working model is not perfect: to take off and land, metal animal needed the help of man, but with the free plan in the air he has no problems.
According to the developers, the Fox bionic will not do. It was created for research purposes only, as an experiment in adapting the methods of the natural phenomena in engineering technology.
