The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s office wants to arrest the captain of the detained ship “Nord”
KIEV, APR 5 — RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s office will petition for arrest of the captain of the arrested in Ukraine, the Russian ship “Nord” for a period of 60 days, reported RIA Novosti on Thursday, press Secretary of Department Tatyana Tihonchik.
“Prosecutors will ask for arrest for 60 days,” — said Tihonchik. She added that the captain will be present at the hearing.
Last week, Ukrainian border guards detained in the sea of Azov fishing boat “Nord” under the flag of Russia. On Board were 10 crew members. They all have Russian passports issued in Kerch. The ship escorted to the port of Berdyansk. The crew members made up of administrative reports and banned off the Board. “Nord” was seized. Protection of seafarers considers that they are forced to recognize themselves as citizens of Ukraine. They are not allowed the Russian Consul and denied medical care.
The ship’s captain on Wednesday brought to the office of the security Service of Ukraine in Kherson for election of a measure of restraint. He was charged with “violating the procedure of entry in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and departure from it with the purpose of causing harm to the interests of the state.” To the captain threatens till five years of imprisonment. The rest of the crew remained in the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk. To leave the ship they are forbidden. The captain on Wednesday evening was taken to the Kherson city hospital with the diagnosis “a hypertensive crisis”.
