Putin cautioned against turning hot spots into a source of revenue for arms dealers

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the hot spot for some of the sellers of weapons a profitable business, but a departure from international law in this area is unacceptable.

“Today, the weapon falls to the so-called moderate opposition, and tomorrow is in the hands of radicals and terrorists – he said, speaking at a meeting of the Commission on military-technical cooperation (MTC). It seems that they themselves are hot spots and conflict zones have become for some just a profitable business, part of a branched gray schemes for the supply of arms to countries or regions with unstable political and military situation.”

According to Putin, Moscow in turn are committed to combat terrorism and responsible approach to the choice of gun buyers. “Russia is firmly committed to its obligations in the fight against terrorism, responsible approach to the selection of counterparties, as well as control over the use of our equipment and weapons of its recipients,” said he.

The President also noted that Russian producers and suppliers of weapons to face unfair competition.
