Russian Railways (RZD) will resume the sale of tickets in couchette and General cars in 2018, not later than November 16. On Saturday, November 4, the press service of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia.
“The Ministry of transport of Russia together with FAS of Russia will develop a consolidated position on the issue of setting tariffs for transportation of passengers in reserved seat and General cars in 2018. After this, the FAS in coordination with the Russian government takes the necessary decisions on this issue to open a ticket in the terms established by the legislation”, — stated in the message Department.
The press service explained that by law the carrier must begin selling tickets not later than 45 days before departure.
Earlier, Russian Railways announced that it would temporarily suspend the sale of tickets in couchette and General cars. In the company of such a step is explained by the fact that FAS has not taken a decision on the level of tariffs for passenger transportation for the next year.
It was noted that all other categories of tickets will remain on sale. The suspension of sales will not affect high-speed trains “Peregrine Falcon”.
