Iraqi authorities called the illicit contract between Rosneft and Kurdistan
CAIRO, February 7 — RIA Novosti. Iraqi authorities believe the contract between Iraqi Kurdistan and Rosneft illegal, thus they are not interested in the details of the transaction, told RIA Novosti the representative of the Iraqi Ministry of oil, Assem Jihad.
“Any contract is not with the Federal government and the oil Ministry is illegal,” said Jihad.
“We are not interested in the contract, its parts, we do not know these details and in General know nothing about him” — said the representative office. Jihad recalled that responsible persons at risk of consequences for their actions.
In February 2017, “Rosneft” and the Iraqi regional Government of Kurdistan signed a cooperation agreement in the oil and gas sector. A contract was signed for the purchase and sale of oil from 2017 to 2019. In September, the parties held talks about the possibility of participation of company in project financing for construction of a gas pipeline in Kurdistan. It is expected that a separate agreement will be signed before the end of the year.
“Rosneft” on October 18 announced that he had signed with the government of Iraqi Kurdistan documents required for the entry into force of agreements on production section (SRP) in respect of the five blocks situated on the territory of the region. 20 Oct Rosneft and Iraqi Kurdistan announced the beginning of the project implementation manual for the oil pipeline, the Russian company’s share in which could leave 60%.
