Scientists have learned how to cope with obsessive thoughts

Scientists at Cambridge University discovered a link between Intrusive thoughts, hallucinations and other mental disorders with a reduced level in the hippocampus inhibitory neurotransmitter — gamma–aminobutyric acid (GABA). The scientific results published in the journal Nature Communications.

Up to this point it was already known that a decrease in the activity of the hippocampus responsible for the formation of emotions, causes a similar condition in patients, however, remained a mystery as to “spur” the area of the brain. “Magnetic resonance spectroscopy showed that the increase in the concentration of GABA in the hippocampus leads to improvement of his work,” explained Professor Michael Anderson.

If this study is confirmed, then its use in clinical practice will help in the treatment of schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and post-traumatic disorders and depression.

In mid-October, scientists from Rutgers University in the USA figured out how to work the Central nervous system is associated with feelings during female orgasm. To do this, the researchers used functional magnetic resonance imaging, Tiskilwa the activity of neurons during stimulation of genitalia.
