The Minister of national defence of Canada harjit Sajjan, on the occasion of the “Ukrainian day” in Parliament dressed in a Ukrainian embroidered shirt, and also posted on his Twitter a message on Ukrainian language.

Canada is the third country in the world in terms of the Ukrainian population (after Russia and Ukraine). According to 2011 data, the number of Canadians of Ukrainian origin were about 276 thousand people, about one million had Ukrainian roots at one of the relatives.
Sajjan was appointed defense Minister in November 2015, becoming the first Sikh in office. Sikhs — followers of the religious teachings, living mainly in the territory of India.
