By mistake, a man who received 10.5 million rubles was left without money and housing

The Briton received 10.5 million rubles, but due to a bank error he lost his home and money about 110 thousand pounds (10.5 million rubles), but in the end he was left without money and lost his home, reports Metro.

At the end of 2020, 54-year-old Russell Alexander first received a large payment from unknown number. He immediately contacted the bank, but no response was received to his request. Payments began to come to Alexander on a monthly basis, and after a while a bank employee replied that transfers are most likely inherited payments, so the Briton can dispose of them.

In June 2021, the man decided to buy a house for restoration to open a private hotel. He sold his home, the rooms in which he rented out, and began to renovate. Two months later, a former client contacted him and said that all this time he had been transferring funds to him by mistake.

After that, the bank withdrew all the funds he had received from Alexander's account. “I was left in a dilapidated one-room house with no heating. I planned to renovate the house in order to rent out rooms, but now it will take me years to earn money, “the man complained.

According to him, the bank expressed regret over the situation and offered him as compensation £ 500 (about 50 thousand rubles).

Earlier in Britain, a woman lost her home because she ignored her mother's will. When it turned out that she had hidden the new will of the deceased and spent all the money herself, she was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
