Michel: The EU will consider the possibility of building infrastructure to protect Poland's borders
The European Council will consider financing the construction of infrastructure to protect Poland's borders. This was announced by the head of the European Council Charles Michel at a press conference with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, which is broadcast on Twitter.
Michel added that on November 15, EU foreign ministers will discuss new sanctions against Belarus and countries sending migrants there. “It is important to adopt very effective sanctions not against the Belarusian people, but against this regime. We have already taken measures against him, but perhaps we should even increase the level of sanctions pressure, “he explained.
Earlier on November 10, Poland increased the number of military personnel operating on the border with Belarus to 15 thousand people. In addition, there are 4 thousand border guards and 1.5 thousand police officers there.
